How do your courses work? Do I need to be online at specific times? Is it all self-paced?
TechChange courses are delivered entirely online. Each course is designed to be highly interactive and social, but we also work hard to ensure that the majority of content can experienced in a self-paced manner. We do feature real-time interactions each week such as live discussions, live expert interviews, and live simulations. In order to accommodate busy schedules of learners from around the world we’ve set up a learning environment where participants have plenty of options and can choose the ones they’d like to be involved with depending on their availability and interest.
Will I have access to the course after it ends?
Absolutely! You’ll be able to access all course materials for at least 4 months after the course ends so you can catch up on things you missed and work through content at your own pace.

How much time should I budget each week for a course?
We recommend dedicating a minimum of 7-9 hours a week for your course. Some participants choose to spend more and some less. All live events (video interviews, chats, radio shows) are archived and the facilitator produces weekly recaps for those that fall behind. All course content is also available for 4 months after the course ends so participants can revisit it, should they need to.
What are the technical requirements to take a TechChange course?
Courses are delivered completely online and as such require a consistent connection to the Internet and a working internet browser. We recommend the following browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, and Safari. Note: we suggest Internet Explorer (IE) users upgrade to at least IE 8, although the platform will still work with IE 7 and above. We have optimized our courses to be accessible in low-bandwidth environments. TechChange has a dedicated tech support team that is always available to assist with specific individual concerns and work to ensure all your needs are met.

Ok I think I want to take a course, how do I apply?
Great! All you need to do is fill out this brief online application. Once we receive it, our application selection committee will review it and someone from the TechChange team will be in touch within 1-3 business days regarding the status of your application. Early registration dates and discounts are indicated on the individual course pages. Admitted students will then be sent a secure link to choose their payment option.
Do you offer scholarships or financial aid?
TechChange works on an individual basis to accommodate applicants who show a demonstrable need for financial assistance. Email us with questions at info [at] techchange.org.
Will I receive a certificate upon successfully completing the course?
TechChange uses a point system called TechPoints to keep track of participation. Participants must earn a minimum number of points to receive TechChange certification for each course.
Do you offer custom courses for organizations?
Yes, we do. TechChange has delivered a number of custom courses for organizations and our team is happy to discuss options with you. Send us a quick note at info [at] techchange.org with more details and we’ll be in touch.

What types of payment do you accept?
Participants can pay for courses through PayPal, Credit Card, Wire Transfer or by sending a check to TechChange. Our address is 218 D St SE, 3rd Floor, Washington DC, 20003.
Can I get refund?
Unfortunately, we aren’t able to offer refunds for participants who cannot take courses for whatever reason when they are offered. We will however allow participants to apply their tuition to future TechChange courses.
Can I earn credit for the course?
We are working with a number of academic institutions to be able to offer credit for our courses in the coming year. TechChange staff currently teach for-credit graduate-level courses at American, George Mason and George Washington Universities as well as the United Nations University for Peace. We are happy to work with individual participants to provide letters of support to home institutions. We also currently have a partnership with the National Peace Academy. Some of our courses can be taken as part of NPA’s National Peacebuilding Peacelearning Certificate Program, a program designed to make learning for peace accessible, available and affordable for all.
Do you offer group rates?
You bet! As far as the price, it depends on the course but we generally offer discounts for 4-9 participants and additional discounts for groups of 10 or more.
