Track Record

TechChange has successfully managed distance learning projects for groups in Sudan and Pakistan, and has provided simultaneous training for participants in over 43 countries. Examples of our group courses include:

TC104a: Global Innovations for Digital Organizing

TechChange directors Charles Martin-Shields and Chris Neu worked with AECOM’s Sudan office to create a space for 20 Sudanese civil society organization leaders to learn about technology for civic engagement. Chris and Charles worked with AECOM’s staff to determine appropriate content, and make modifications to the platform so that participants could participate in both English and Arabic, as well as having a Sudanese civil society expert co-facilitate the course.

Global Innovations for Global Collaboration

Working with IREX, TechChange Director Chris Neu is facilitating an online training program for 40 Pakistani university students as part of the Global UGRAD program, using TechChange’s online training platform. The three week course will provide the students will opportunities to learn from experts on global development and technology, as well as maintain their relationships that were developed during their studies at U.S. universities.

 Blended Learning

TechChange is currently in the process of designing approaches to blended learning, drawing on the team’s experience doing face-to-face training in Africa, the Middle East and at leading universities. By combining the best practices of in-person training with opportunities for participants to continue learning in an online environment, we expect to develop a model of capacity building that is both sustainable and cost-effective for institutions working in the fields of technology, development and conflict prevention.
