University Courses
TechChange partners with a variety of institutions to administer hands-on courses, workshops, simulations, and lectures. Learning experiences are tailored to each organization’s specific needs and can range in length from an afternoon to a semester. Sample course topics include “Technology and Peace”, “New Media and Peacebuilding”, and “Technology for Crisis Response and Effective Governance.”
United Nations Mandated University for Peace (UPEACE)
In June 2010, Nick Martin taught the first-ever short course on Technology and Peace at UPEACE. 18 participants from 13 countries engaged in a variety of discussions, case studies, and practical exercises involving how technology can be used for building peace. The course also made use of a number of new technology-focused teaching techniques to ease the learning process. Read more about the course at AshokaPeace and on the TechChange blog. Georgetown University
In October 2010, TechChange gave a lecture on “New Media and Crisis Mapping” in a course on peacebuilding at Georgetown University’s Department of Government. The team facilitated a number of hands on exercises and conducted a mini crisis mapping simulation.
American University
TechChange co-taught a course with American University faculty on “Applications of Technology for Peacebuilding” in february of 2011 at the School of International Service at American University.

TechChange will teach a course entitled “Technology for Crisis Response and Effective Governance” during the Fall 2011 semester at the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs.
